Windsurfing is definitely one of the most awesome sports! But to windsurf in Sri Lanka means feeling the elements, becoming connected to nature by decovering your own limits! One of the best Sri Lankan Windsurf champions, Upul De Silva, established the Resort in 2012.
At our windsurf station you get everything you need and we equip you with the right gear to learn Windsurfing in Sri Lanka!
Windsurf Classes for all levels!
- Intensive instructions: maximum 6 students per instructor
- Instructions in the big flat water lagoon
- All courses include equipment & accessories (harness, life-vest, helmet and shoes)
- Licensed, multilingual instructors
- Level check to obtain International level licence
- Free rescue at the lagoon
Upul De Silva, one of Sri Lankan best windsurfers (long-time National Champion, Asian Games 2006), established De Silva Windresort in 2012. More than 25 years of windsurf experience, more than 10.000 students in Europe, hard work and never ending love for watersports made him succsessful!

Foil wings, also known as wingsurfers or surf wings, are not a new invention. The concept was experimented with by veteran windsurfers as early as the late eighties. Developer Tom Magruder introduced his "Wind Weapon" around 1986. However, the experience of riding with wings on conventional boards was somewhat limited until the advent of modern foil technology. This advancement has significantly enhanced the performance and enjoyment of using foil wings, transforming it into the exhilarating sport we know today
